Synopsis


Michael Jackson born in 1958 in Gary, Indiana. He becomes the lead singer of his family’s popular Motown group, the Jackson 5. He goes on to a solo career of wonderful success, delivering Number 1 hits from the albums off The Wall, Bad and Thriller. In 2009, he dies just before launching a comeback tour.


Early life and Career

Michael Joseph Jackson born on 29th August 1958 in a large African-American working-class family. Michael Jackson mother Katherine Jackson was a housewife and a devout Jehovah’s Witness. His father Joseph Jackson has been a guitarist and he worked as a crane operator. He believing that his sons have talent; in the early 1960s, he molded them in a musical group.

At the first of this group, the Jackson Family performers consist of Michael’s older brother Tito, and Jackie Jermaine. Michael joins to his brother when he is 5 years old. Soon, he becomes as the group’s lead vocalist. He showed the remarkable range for that age perfumer. He impresses audiences with his ability to convey complex emotions. When his older brother joins the group, the group evolved into the Jackson 5.

Joseph Jackson pushes his sons to success. He also reportedly has known to become violent with them. They spend endless hours rehearsing and polishing up their act. At first, the Jackson 5 plays native gigs and built a powerful following. They record one single on their own, but the record fails to generate more interest.

After few days, the Jackson 5 coughs the attention of Motown founder Berry Gordy. He signs them to his label in early 1969.

Michael and his brothers move to Log Angeles. There they live with Gordy and Diana Ross. In 1969, August, the Jackson 5 introduce to the music industry at a special event. They launch their first album, Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5, hit charts in December 1969. They launched with the album with its single, “I Want You Back”, what reach number 1 on the Billboard hot 100 chart. Quickly follow more charts topping singles, such as ‘ABC’, ‘The Love You Save’ and ‘I’ll be there’.

Solo Stardom

Jackson launches a solo career in addition to his work with the Jackson 5 at 15 years old. From the album of the same name, he made the charts in 1971 with ‘Got to Be There’. His album ‘Ben’ (1972), what feature the eponymous ballad about a rat. The song becomes first solo Number 1 single.

For few years, Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 maintain a busy tour and recording schedule, under the supervision of Berry Gordy and his Motown staff. The group becomes so popular that they even had their own self-titled cartoon show (1971-1972).

After few years, they rename their group the Jacksons. The group signs a new recording deal with Epic Records. The brothers have emerged as talented songwriters by the release of their third album for the label, 1978’s Destiny.

In 1979, Michael wowed the music world with his next solo album ‘off the wall’. The album featured the Grammy Award-winning single.

The Jacksons help by the very positive response to off the wall. One million copy sell of Triumph (1980), and to support the recording the brother go on an extended tour. Their duet with rock legend Paul McCartney in 1982, “The Girl Is Mine”, which almost reach the top of the pop charts. This song also appears on his next solo album ‘Thriller’ (1982). This album generates seven Top 10 hits and becomes the best-selling album in history. He performs his Number 1 hit ‘Billie Jean’ and debut his soon to be the famous dance move the moonwalk on a special honoring TV show. On this time he is the pure performer, this step creates by him and choreographs the dance sequences for the video of the album ‘Beat It’, what become another number 1 hit.

 ‘Thriller’ video is immense success and boot sales for the already effectual record. This album on the charts for long 80 weeks and holding the number 1 position for 37 weeks and also get 12 Grammy Award nominations and 8 wins, both records. He earns a Grammy for ‘Billie Jean’, for his songwriting talents. He also honors for many singles categories.
